Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Rib Lake

Rib Lake had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Phillips Loggers. This was payback for the Redmen, who suffered a 6-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Rib Lake's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Phillips, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.

Rib Lake has already played their next matchup, an 11-2 defeat against Tomahawk on the 7th. Hopefully Phillips paid attention to the Redmen's game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Redmen at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
