Baseball Game Preview: South Western Mustangs vs. Dover Eagles

The South Western Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Dover Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

South Western is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Dallastown just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Mustangs couldn't push the score so high this time.

South Western got a good showing from Charlie Miller, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Miller has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, South Western saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaden Freeze, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Dover suffered their closest defeat since March 19th on Monday. They fell just short of Hanover by a score of 6-4.

The loss was their first at home, dropping their record down to 13-5. As for Dover, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-16.

South Western couldn't quite get it done against Dover in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 as they fell 3-0. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
