Dixon won the last time they faced Swansboro and JJ Gulat did his part to make sure it happened again. The Bulldogs took down the Pirates 46-30 on Friday for which the team can thank Gulat, who rushed for 343 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.4 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 12th straight game with at least 103 rushing yards dating back to last season.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Dixon's defense and their three sacks. Keoni Terukina refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Swansboro's side was Terukina, who picked up 1.5 sacks and made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Swansboro lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Carmello Beasley, who rushed for 69 yards and one touchdown on only five carries, and also picked up 40 receiving yards and one score. Another player making a difference was Kevin Till, who threw for 236 yards and three TDs while completing 78.9% of his passes.
Dixon pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Swansboro, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
