Softball Recap: Thompson Triumphs

Thompson had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Walhalla/Pembina/Drayton Eagles 7-6.

Thompson is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Walhalla/Pembina/Drayton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Thompson and Walhalla/Pembina/Drayton are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Tommies will challenge Des Lacs-Burlington on Saturday. As for Walhalla/Pembina/Drayton, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Glenburn on Saturday. The Eagles are facing the Panther at the right time seeing as the Panther are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
