Basketball Game Preview: Parkersburg Big Reds vs. Spring Valley Timberwolves

The Parkersburg Big Reds will square off against the Spring Valley Timberwolves at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Parkersburg is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Hurricane, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Parkersburg was ranked tenth). Parkersburg took a 67-52 bruising from Hurricane on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Spring Valley waltzed into their game on Saturday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. Everything went their way against the Red Dragons as they made off with a 69-44 victory. The Timberwolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 24 points or more this season.

Parkersburg's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points over those games. As for Spring Valley, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2.
