Basketball Recap: Ignite Athletics Takes a Loss

Ignite Athletics was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 60-30 loss at the hands of Parkersburg Christian. The Flames were down 44-18 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Alexander Fluharty was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 24 points and 15 boards for Parkersburg Christian. Fluharty is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine assists.

Ignite Athletics' loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Parkersburg Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season.

Ignite Athletics does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Parkersburg Christian, they will challenge Heritage Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Parkersburg Christian is facing Heritage Christian at the right time seeing as Heritage Christian is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
