Baseball Game Preview: Bartlett Bulldogs vs. Milano Eagles

Bartlett hasn't had much luck against Milano recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bulldogs will take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Bartlett is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They put the hurt on Goldthwaite with a sharp 12-1 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Three must be Milano's lucky number: they beat Evadale with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Eagles beat the Rebels by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-1.

Kellson Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Milano saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andres Ruelas, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Bartlett pushed their record up to 16-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Milano, their victory bumped their record up to 15-8-1.

Bartlett took their win against Milano in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
