Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Erskine Academy walked away with it. They pulled ahead with a 44-43 photo finish over the Hermon Hawks on Friday. The 44-point effort marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The victory (which was Erskine Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 16-4. As for Hermon, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.

Looking ahead, Erskine Academy will face off against John Bapst Memorial at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. John Bapst Memorial knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Erskine Academy likes a good challenge. Hermon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
