Basketball Recap: Northeast Academy Takes a Loss

Northeast Academy lost against Pungo Christian Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Northeast Academy Eagles fell 53-43 to the Pungo Christian Academy Raiders.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pungo Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Allison Sawyer, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Sawyer has scored at least a third of Pungo Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexy Tate, who went 6 for 12 on her way to 14 points along with six boards and three steals.

Northeast Academy's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Pungo Christian Academy, their record is now 8-15.

We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. As for Pungo Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 65-35 defeat against Lawrence Academy on the 4th.
