Normal West strolled into their game on Friday with an undefeated record and they left with the same. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the St. Patrick Shamrocks. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Normal West's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 17th, while St. Patrick are ranked 159th).

Normal West's win bumped their record up to 12-0-1. As for St. Patrick, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Coming up, Normal West is taking a road trip to take on Pekin at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Normal West will be up against Pekin's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.07 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for St. Patrick, they will be taking part in a tournament against Metea Valley at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday.
