Volleyball Recap: Rice Takes a Loss

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Thursday. Rice fell just short of Dawson by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Rice of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2023.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Rice sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 20-25, 16-14.

With the loss, Rice broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-6. As for Dawson, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record.

Rice didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Penelope on the 21st. As for Dawson, they will square off against Abbott at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
