Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Stagg

Stagg had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Weston Ranch Cougars. The Delta Kings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

Aerie Garcia made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Garcia was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rachael Symoungkhoune, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Alexus Short, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.

Stagg hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Weston Ranch struck out seven times.

Stagg's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Weston Ranch, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Stagg wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-2 victory against Franklin on the 1st. As for Weston Ranch, they have also already played their next match, a 9-8 win against McNair on the 1st.
