Basketball Game Preview: Forest Wildcats vs. Sarasota Sailors

The Forest Wildcats will square off against the Sarasota Sailors at 4:50 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Thursday, Forest earned a 74-66 win over Vanguard. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Sarasota came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 68-63 victory over the Rams. Given the Sailors' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Rams are ranked 216th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sarasota's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.1 points per game. As for Forest, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
