Basketball Recap: Okeechobee Comes Up Short

Okeechobee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 67-30 loss at the hands of the Sebastian River Sharks. The Brahmans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-14.

Sebastian River's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Samiya Adams, who went 5 for 9 en route to 12 points and seven steals. The dominant performance gave Adams a new career-high in steals. Destiny Pickard was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.

Okeechobee's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Sebastian River, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Okeechobee will challenge Morningside Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sebastian River, they will take on Treasure Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
