Baseball Recap: Thornwell Takes a Loss

The Thornwell Saints lost 17-1 to the Abbeville Panthers on Tuesday. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Thornwell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tru'Mari Kinard-Shelton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. That hit marked the first that Kinard-Shelton got this season.

Thornwell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Abbeville, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0-1.

Looking ahead, Thornwell will welcome Southside at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southside has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.75 runs per game on average), something Thornwell will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Abbeville, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Abbeville Panthers challenge Ninety Six Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
