Baseball Game Preview: Gladwin Flying G's vs. Ogemaw Heights Falcons

The Gladwin Flying G will take on the Ogemaw Heights Falcons at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Gladwin managed to slip by Standish-Sterling the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Flying G's lost 11-1 to the Panthers on Friday. The match marked the Flying G's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Cass City hit Ogemaw Heights with a four-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons fell just short of the Red Hawks by a score of 6-4. The Falcons have struggled against the Red Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Ogemaw Heights got a good showing from Noah Tomczak, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave Tomczak a new career-low in walks (zero).

On the hitting side, Ogemaw Heights saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angel Potter, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Jace Peters also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Ogemaw Heights' loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Gladwin, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6.
