Volleyball Game Preview: Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots vs. Waubay/Summit Mustangs

After both having extra time off, the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots and the Waubay/Summit Mustangs will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hitchcock-Tulare will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Hitchcock-Tulare got the win against Wessington Springs by a conclusive 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-13, 25-17.

Hitchcock-Tulare's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Olivia Knox led the charge by getting 13 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Knox has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Avarie Estey, who had 13 digs and two aces.

Meanwhile, Waubay/Summit lost 3-0 to Webster on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Bearcats: they've now lost eight in a row.

While Waubay/Summit ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-18, 25-18.

Waubay/Summit's defeat dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Hitchcock-Tulare, their victory bumped their record up to 26-4.
