Softball Recap: Carolina Forest Wins Going Away Against Marlboro County

Carolina Forest had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Marlboro County on Saturday. The Carolina Forest Panthers put the hurt on the Marlboro County Bulldogs with a sharp 12-1 victory. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

The team relied heavily on Mady Eason, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She also brought in two RBI, marking her first of the season. Kylee Warehime was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Carolina Forest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marlboro County only posted an OBP of .211.

Carolina Forest's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Marlboro County, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Carolina Forest will take on Wilson Hall in a tournament on Thursday. Marlboro County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Loris at 7:00 p.m. on March 18th.
