Basketball Recap: Crossland Comes Up Short

Crossland lost against Friendly back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Crossland Cavaliers might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Friendly Patriots an easy 48-25 victory. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Friendly got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jasmine Germany out in front who went 8 of 17 en route to 18 points and seven steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Germany has scored at least a third of Friendly's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alonah Manning, who posted seven points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Crossland's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Friendly, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Crossland and International High School at Largo will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Friendly, they will head out to square off against Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Friendly's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North's offense will have their work cut out for them.
