Basketball Recap: Southeast Sets Scoring Season-High Against East

Southeast scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of East by a score of 58-56. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as East apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

East found their leader in sophomore Jonathan Bruce, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Bruce is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Martez Troy was another key player, putting up seven points along with eight assists and three steals.

Southeast is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10. As for East, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-12.

Southeast wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 49-39 loss against Barstow on the 13th. As for East, they have also already played their next game, a 68-51 victory against DeLaSalle Charter on the 14th.
