Defiance put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Archbold Blue Streaks by a score of 4-0. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blue Streaks, too.

Garyson Smiddy tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Defiance's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Colt Ward, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Defiance pushed their record up to 18-0 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Archbold, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.

Coming up, Defiance will venture away from home to face off against Shawnee at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Archbold, they will host Tinora at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
