Baseball Game Preview: Damien Spartans vs. Chino Hills Huskies

For the second straight game, Damien will face off against Chino Hills. The Spartans will square off against the Huskies at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Damien is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

On Monday, Damien beat Chino Hills 7-3.

Rudy O'Dell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Elius Kelly was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Michael Mansour also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Damien was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Damien pushed their record up to 12-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Chino Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.
