Basketball Recap: Walkertown Comes Up Short

Walkertown saw some tournament action on Saturday. They lost 70-46 to the Calvary Day School Cougars. The Wolfpack have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Walkertown lost, don't look at Camereon Cartlidge. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. Cartlidge is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Eric Wiley, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 11 points.

Dane Cassada was his usual excellent self, putting up 22 points in addition to seven boards and five assists for Calvary Day School. Another player making a difference was Caleb Autry, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Walkertown's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Calvary Day School, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Walkertown will take on West Stokes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Calvary Day School, they will welcome Greensboro Day School at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Calvary Day School is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 70.9 points per game this season.
