Baseball Recap: Thomaston's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Thomaston proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 17) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars, sneaking past 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bears have posted since May 1, 2024.

Colton Patchell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits.

At the plate, Thomaston's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Joe Rocco, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Josh Boulanger was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Thomaston's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7. As for Kolbe-Cathedral, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-10.

Looking ahead, Thomaston will host Bassick at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Kolbe-Cathedral does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
