Softball Game Preview: Avon Braves vs. Letchworth Legends

The Avon Braves are taking a road trip to take on the Letchworth Legends at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Avon will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Avon's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Dansville with a sharp 11-0 win. Considering the Braves have won four games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Rylie Miller, who went 2-for-3 with three runs. Violet Philips also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Letchworth). They blew past Perry 12-3 on Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Legends with their most commanding win of the season.

Avon pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Letchworth, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Avon took their win against Letchworth in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 10-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Braves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
