Football Game Preview: Lafayette Christian Cougars vs. Central Christian Crusaders + How To Watch

The Lafayette Christian Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Central Christian Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lafayette Christian has five straight victories, Central Christian has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Central Christian's offense is going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Lafayette Christian hadn't allowed a single point the last three times they've hit the field. The Cougars blew past Harvester Christian Academy 44-0 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won five games by 34 points or more so far this season.

Lafayette Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Connor Hudson and Cody Batistini. Lafayette Christian received some extra help from Jonathan May, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Central Christian played against Community Christian on Friday and lost via forfeit.

Lafayette Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Central Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Lafayette Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Central Christian in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, sneaking past 19-16. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
