Football Recap: Juneau-Douglas Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with South Anchorage

Juneau-Douglas faced South Anchorage in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Crimson Bears and the Wolverines were almost perfectly matched up, but the Crimson Bears suffered a 29-28 defeat. The Crimson Bears lost against the Wolverines in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 42-0 score last time.

Juneau-Douglas is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. As for South Anchorage, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Coincidentally, Juneau-Douglas and South Anchorage will both be playing Dimond the next time they take the field. The Crimson Bears will host the Lynx at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Wolverines will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on the 27th.
