Softball Recap: Sauk Rapids-Rice Comes Up Short

Bemidji hit Sauk Rapids-Rice with a four-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Storm fell just short of the Lumberjacks by a score of 7-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Storm of the 4-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Brooklyn Diskerud was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Julie Skog, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Sauk Rapids-Rice dropped their record down to 3-9 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Bemidji, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Sauk Rapids-Rice will head out to challenge Detroit Lakes at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bemidji has already played their next contest (against Cloquet), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
