Basketball Recap: Mountain View Takes a Loss

Mountain View was the 67-58 winner over Caldera when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mountain View Cougars took a hard 61-43 fall against Caldera on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Caldera are ranked 16th).

Mountain View has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Caldera, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4.

Mountain View will face off against Ridgeview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Caldera, they will square off against Summit at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Summit knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Caldera likes a good challenge.
