Volleyball Recap: Manvel's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Manvel waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Sam Rayburn Texans. The Mavericks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Texans, too.

Manvel's offense was headlined by Kaycee Pennie and Jasmyn Walker, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from London King and her 14 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Manvel's win bumped their record up to 21-8. As for Sam Rayburn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Manvel is set to challenge their familiar foe Alvin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Sam Rayburn will square off against rival Dawson at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
