Baseball Recap: Superior Takes a Loss

Superior extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 7-15 in the process. They came up short against the Hibbing Bluejackets, falling 11-3. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bluejackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Hibbing, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-4. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of three runs across that stretch.

For Hibbing's part, they let Braydon Rewertz and Tate Swanson run wild. Rewertz got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, while Swanson went 1-for-5 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave Swanson a new career-high. Aiden Davey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Superior does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hibbing, they will square off against Marshall at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
