Recap: Verbum Dei Jesuit Eagles vs. Bishop Montgomery Knights
The Verbum Dei Jesuit Eagles fell victim to the Bishop Montgomery Knights''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Knights 47-0. Verbum Dei Jesuit has struggled against Bishop Montgomery recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Leading Bishop Montgomery to victory were Joseph Gutierrez (tony) and Cameron Brewer. Gutierrez (tony) threw for 215 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes, while Brewer picked up 184 receiving yards and four touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakob Martinez, who rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Verbum Dei Jesuit's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Bishop Montgomery, their win bumped their record up to 5-4.
