Cuba-Rushford lost a heartbreaker to Fillmore when they met back in April, and they left with a heavy heart again on Wednesday. The Rebels fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 5-3. The Rebels' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Cuba-Rushford saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Claire Moyer, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Cuba-Rushford's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Fillmore, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Eagles beat Cuba-Rushford by a score of 5-3 later that day.
