Softball Game Preview: Big Walnut Golden Eagles vs. Dublin Jerome Celtics

The Big Walnut Golden Eagles will head out to challenge the Dublin Jerome Celtics at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, Big Walnut didn't have quite enough to beat Thomas Worthington and fell 12-11.

Kyra Holmes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Myka Marriott, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Dublin Jerome unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Jonathan Alder on Saturday, falling 18-2.

Dublin Jerome saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adella Pawlowski (2028), who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Big Walnut now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Dublin Jerome, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Big Walnut came out on top in a nail-biter against Dublin Jerome in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for Big Walnut since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
