Cumberland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Lincoln Lions. The Clippers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Cumberland took a 1-1 lead headed into the third set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 15-25, 25-17, 25-21.

Cumberland's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sophia Pires, who had 17 digs and two aces, and Mia Hamel, who had 12 digs. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: Pires now had ten or more in the last seven games she's played dating back to last season.
