Basketball Game Preview: Sandhills/Thedford Knights vs. Maywood/Hayes Center Wolves

Having just played yesterday, the Sandhills/Thedford Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Maywood/Hayes Center Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Sandhills/Thedford's defense has only allowed 28.8 points per game this season, so Maywood/Hayes Center's offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Sandhills/Thedford beat Anselmo-Merna 43-38. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Meanwhile, Maywood/Hayes Center took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 72-32 victory over Maxwell. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 25 points or more this season.

Maywood/Hayes Center's win came from a few key players Sandhills/Thedford will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Blayklee Farr, who went 8 of 12 en route to 22 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caylie Softley, who went 7 for 13 on her way to 17 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Maywood/Hayes Center was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Maxwell only racked up six assists.

Maywood/Hayes Center's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. As for Sandhills/Thedford, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
