Football Recap: Shoreham-Wading River Takes a Loss

If Shoreham-Wading River was riding high fresh off their 60-21 takedown of Center Moriches last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats were beaten by the Bayport-Blue Point Phantoms 48-0 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Phantoms are ranked 15th).

Noah Gregorek threw for 57 yards on 12 of 22 attempts. Gavin Cleary was his top target, picking up 29 receiving yards.

Shoreham-Wading River's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Bayport-Blue Point, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Shoreham-Wading River wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 52-18 win against Hampton Bays on the 26th. As for Bayport-Blue Point, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-37 victory against Kings Park on the 26th.
