Softball Recap: Gilroy Finds Playoff Glory Versus Scotts Valley

It's playoff time, and Gilroy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Scotts Valley Falcons on Saturday.

Gilroy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Scotts Valley, with the defeat, they broke their 12-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-6-1.

Coming up, Gilroy will take on Saratoga at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Falcons an eight-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. Scotts Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
