Basketball Game Preview: East Valley Red Devils vs. Ellensburg Bulldogs

The East Valley Red Devils and the Ellensburg Bulldogs will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

East Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Othello with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 84-66. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Huskies are ranked 323rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Ellensburg's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost to Selah at home by a 75-58 margin.

East Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Ellensburg, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.

East Valley beat Ellensburg 62-51 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Will East Valley repeat their success, or does Ellensburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
