League recap: Coon Rapids runs winning streak to six

Northwest Suburban league recap: 5/29/12

Coon Rapids (16-5, 15-4) is riding a league-best 6-game winning streak. In the past week, the Cardinals won another two games, including a 7-2 victory over Osseo. Grant Farley led the lineup this week with two hits and one RBI.

Blaine made the biggest jump in the Minnesota state rankings, moving from 218 to 173 thanks to a 2-1 record over the past week.

The Cardinals boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks. On the season, Coon Rapids has allowed just 118 hits, while striking out 156 batters. Logan Shore leads Coon Rapids with 48 strikeouts in 41 innings pitched.

Luke Erlandson went 4-4 as Robbinsdale Cooper defeated Blaine 7-4 on Monday. He also drove in two runners and scored one runs.
