Baseball Recap: Bella Vista Triumphs

Bella Vista picked up another tournament win on Monday. They came out on top against the Chico Panthers by a score of 5-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Broncos.

Ethan Benson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Colton Ashley, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Longaker, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Bella Vista's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Chico, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 17-1.

Looking ahead, Bella Vista will take on Woodland Christian at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Broncos' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Chico, they will challenge Cosumnes Oaks at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers are facing the Wolfpack at the right time seeing as the Wolfpack are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
