Baseball Recap: Potomac School Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Potomac School nor Sidwell Friends made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Quakers 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since May 9, 2024.

Colby Bohnen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Potomac School saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Lam, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double. Ian Parrish also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Potomac School's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sidwell Friends, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-3.

When Potomac School and Sidwell Friends next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Panthers will try to stop Flint Hill's seven-game winning streak when they meet at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Sidwell Friends will take on St. Albans and their three-game winning streak at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
