Basketball Recap: Shiloh Comes Up Short

Shiloh came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the Woodward Academy War Eagles, falling 90-56. The Generals haven't had much luck with the War Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Several Generals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nicholas Johnson, who went 5-for-8 on his way to 10 points. Thanks to that strong game, Johnson now owns an excellent 45.7% shooting accuracy. Sean Alicea was another key player, going 5-for-10 en route to 11 points.

Woodward Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zachary Foster out in front who went 7-for-10 to rack up 17 points in addition to seven assists and three steals. Foster's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Myles Hayes, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 15 points.

Shiloh's loss dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Woodward Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.

Shiloh didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 36-33 defeat against Decatur on the 15th. As for Woodward Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 87-80 victory against Tri-Cities on the 15th.
