Soccer Game Preview: Village Christian vs. Maranatha

Village Christian is 1-9 against Maranatha since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Village Christian Crusaders will face off against the Maranatha Minutemen at 5:30 p.m. Village Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4 goals per game this season.

Village Christian took a loss when they played away from home back in December of 2024, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They rang in the new year with a 3-1 win over Whittier Christian. The Crusaders' winning goal came courtesy of Felix Green.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in December of 2024, Maranatha was forced to settle for a draw on Friday. They and Valley Christian finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw.

Maranatha's draw makes their record 5-9-2 this season. As for Village Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Village Christian might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Maranatha in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Village Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
