Basketball Recap: Altavista Find Success

Altavista's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They managed a 62-57 win over the Amherst County Lancers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 73-67 back in December of 2024.

Altavista now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Amherst County, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Altavista and Chatham will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Amherst County, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Amherst County is facing Liberty at the right time seeing as Liberty is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
