Austin posted their biggest win since December 2, 2024 on Thursday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 61-34 victory over the Columbia Eagles. That's more bragging rights for the Black Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Austin has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-15 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Columbia, their loss was their 12th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-21.

Austin and Columbia could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Austin (ranked 166th) will meet Mars Hill Bible (ranked 26th) at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Columbia will face off against Buckhorn at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 286 places (324 vs. 38).
