Tulare Union is 8-2 against Tulare Western since November of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Tribe will head out on the road to take on the Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. Tulare Union knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Tulare Western likes a good challenge.
On Friday, Tulare Union took their game with ease, bagging a 49-20 win over Dinuba. Given the Tribe's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 79th, while the Emperors are ranked 262nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jordan Crisp was his usual excellent self, throwing for 228 yards and three touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes. He is becoming a predictor of Tulare Union's success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Rashawn Hayes handled things on the ground, rushing for 92 yards and a rushing touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Tulare Union's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Jordan Alexander, Sevyn Strong, and Osie Early, who each picked up one sack apiece. Tulare Union received some extra help from Demaje Riley, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, Tulare Western won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Lemoore 22-21.
Tulare Western's win came from a few key players Tulare Union will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Preston Seechan, who rushed for 135 yards and a pair of scores. JUJU Hernandez was another key signal caller, throwing for 220 yards and one TD.
Tulare Union's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.8 points on average over those games. As for Tulare Western, their record is now 6-3.
Tulare Union strolled past Tulare Western in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 42-23. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Mustangs' Mikey Johnson, who rushed for 186 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be easier for the Tribe to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
