Volleyball Recap: Kentwood Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Kentwood unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 3-1 to the Emerald Ridge Jaguars on Thursday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Kentwood started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-15, 25-8, 25-12.

Kaitlynn Matthiesen was the offensive standout of the contest as she had four digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

Kentwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Kentlake on the 8th. As for Emerald Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Lake Stevens on the 8th.
