Basketball Game Preview: Leuzinger Olympians vs. Capital Golden Eagles

The Leuzinger Olympians will take on the Capital Golden Eagles in a holiday battle at 9:00 p.m. on Friday. Leuzinger is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.5 points per game this season.

Leuzinger lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Serra, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Olympians blew past the Cavaliers 72-49 on Friday. The Olympians not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since January 30th (when they won 79-49).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Leuzinger to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dylan Curry, who shot 40% from the field en route to 20 points and six rebounds. Those six boards gave Curry a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aiden McIntyre, who posted 16 points and six rebounds.

Leuzinger smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Capital faced Timberline in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to the Wolves. The game marked the Golden Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Capital fell to 5-1. As for Leuzinger, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
