Football Recap: Elkhart Picks Up Eighth Straight Win on the Road

Elkhart won the last time they faced South Bend Adams and Micah Jarrell did his part to make sure it happened again. The Lions blew past the Eagles 21-0 on Friday for which the team can thank Jarrell, who rushed for 56 yards and a pair of TDs. He also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Elkhart is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.

Elkhart's defense made their presence known, laying out Cayden Keen six times. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Kros Jones and Eliott Sanders, who each picked up 1.5 sacks apiece. Elkhart got some further help from Jones: he picked up 1.5 sacks and made 17 total tackles (7.0 for loss).

Elkhart pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.5 points on average over those games. As for South Bend Adams, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Elkhart and South Bend Adams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After each having a week off, the Lions and Carroll will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
